Looks like George Allen and some of his Virginia GOP pals owe their political lives to lobbyist.

Virginia Republican George Allen ranks third in the Senate in the amount of campaign cash in the 2006 election cycle.

A report from advocacy group Public Citizen shows that Allen has received more than 378-thousand dollars from lobbyists and their political-action committees. . . .

In the House of Representatives, 7th District Republican Eric Cantor was ranked eighth by Public Citizen for money raised from lobbyists and their PACs, at more than 181-thousand. Eleventh District Republican Thomas Davis was ranked 17th, at more than 138-thousand dollars.

With Allen traveling the countryside pandering to the Republican base for his Presidential race and pandering to corporate lobbyist to finance his political race, how much time do you think he has left for us afterthoughts back in Virginia?

When he comes back to Virginia, Webb will be so much further then him. So he can't catch up and quits. (Ooo we wish it would be that simple.) Then moves to Ohio because he love it to much. (I think it was Ohio, all well.)

if you're thinking of Allen's "I wish I was born in Iowa" gaffe.

I usually for get the state names. They all sound the same too me.

This is great news for Webb. (summercat - 5/24/2006 8:54:51 AM)
No surprise, either.  I hope the campaign sees this as good fodder for publicity. Also, it is interesting that Allen voted against enforcing fines on employers of illegals, while Sen. Warner voted for it.  FWIW--literally, no doubt!!
