Unable to view the video of the recent Webb-Miller debate, I cannot comment accurately on all that was actually said by Harris Miller and Jim Webb.
However, I+óGé¼Gäóve read that Miller has repeatedly emphasised the need for better education and training as if there is a widespread deficiency in American workers or a true +óGé¼+ôlabor shortage+óGé¼-¥.
Previously, Miller has gone so far as to claim that this is the cause of offshore outsourcing and widening use of skilled/highly educated NIV workers. I hope that the Webb campaign and Webb supporters jump on this claim hard. It is absolutely untrue.
In fact, we find that American students are avoiding fields considered +óGé¼+ôhigh tech+óGé¼-¥ for fear of offshore outsourcing job loss +óGé¼GÇ£ declining job opportunities. We find American workers leaving IT when possible because of offshore outsourcing and use of imported replacement workers. We find cases of underemployed and uncounted unemployed IT workers. Harris Miller should be held to account for this.
We now see that widening categories of white collar work are targeted for offshore outsourcing and NIV worker replacement using the model implemented by Miller+óGé¼Gäós ITAA corporate friends. The idea that training, retraining and education is the +óGé¼+ôsolution+óGé¼-¥ to the +óGé¼+ôcut throat+óGé¼-¥ economic disaster unleashed on American middle class workers is absurd +óGé¼GÇ£ a grotesque and despicable lie.
The reason why Harris Miller has occassionally been characterised as the +óGé¼+ôanti-christ+óGé¼-¥ by IT workers is because he has been the +óGé¼+ôpoint man+óGé¼-¥ for corporations anxious to use any means available to axe their more costly American workforce and replace them with cheap labor from nations such as China and India. Lies, distortions, phony "studies" and massive lobbying efforts aimed at politicians and the media have all been part of Miller's amazing bag of tricks in his long tenure as a hired gun for the pro-outsourcing "tech lobby".
It's tremendously hypocritical for Harris Miller, the man so greatly responsible for the declining American middle class "information age" jobs, to now spin lies about solving the problems he has done so much to create. Harris Miller is incredible; he is beyond belief.
I would also add: Harris Miller is THE world's most arrogant human being, taking credit for Mark Warner's political success, calling himself a "genius" and a "visionary," etc., etc. He is also one of the world's most cynical, self-serving human beings, saying anything to anyone - and donating money to right-wing Republicans and liberal Democrats alike - to get what he wants.
Harris Miller: everything that's wrong with politics and the Democratic Party in one sorry human being.
No one wants to work with Harris Miller. He does not play well with others.
Labor is against him.
The industry he just left is against him.
Big oil is against him.
Senate Dems are against him.
Senate Repos are against him.
So he can't get jobs back over here by himself no matter what he tells people. And as those he has deceived come to learn what he's all about, they will be against him, too.
All he will have left are his cronies from the Fairfax circus days, a handful of stragglers, and perhaps one or two (newly rich thanks to offshoring) wealthy foreign investors. Then what for Virginia? It will be like having another Virgil Goode on a state wide scale.

He could end up being owned by whoever knows where the skeletons are buried.

We all certainly do quite a bit of bitching, so are we ready to put the rhetoric aside and move with this? You all heard the robo calls last night from the Miller campaign spreading lies and misinformation about James Webb, VA's next Senator, and we aren't going to win this primary or this election by sitting on our cute asses! C'mon now...don't be shy! WHO IS WITH ME!?!?!?
