U.S. Rep. Frank R. Wolf (R-Va.), the leading congressional supporter of the Metrorail extension to Dulles International Airport, said he will not intervene on behalf of a proposal to tunnel the line beneath Tysons Corner if that alternative is found to exceed federal cost limits."I've done everything I can. We've moved this process forward over and over," Wolf said at a meeting of the McLean Citizens Association on Tuesday night.
Wolf's comments, one of the few recent occasions he has spoken publicly on the rail project, are a setback for those hoping to build the Tysons Corner portion of the 23-mile line below ground instead of on an elevated track.
I wonder if someone different would be willing to try harder?
