Gerry Connolly Released Name of Fallen Police Office Within Hours

Cross Posted from The Daily Whackjob simply because I'm so pissed about this.
Yesterday, when a female office was shot and killed, Gerry Connolly was a press whore, going on every network and radio station releasing that a female officer was killed. This announcement should have been done by the police, and 30 minutes later, the police refused to release those details, explaining that they wanted to notify the victims+óGé¼Gäó families, and the extended police families (they would prefer that the police heard from them instead of the news reports). The press was very respectful.
From the Washington Post:
Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Gerald E. Connolly identified the slain officer, but The Washington Post has decided not to release the name at this time.
Shame on you Gerry Connolly. This should be investigated and should result in punishment.

What was he thinking? (Loudoun County Dem - 5/9/2006 10:33:50 PM)
Unreal...
I was wondering about that... (doctormatt06 - 5/9/2006 11:05:27 PM)
I read that statement...but then I was like...so where is her name...it didn't make sense..but you're right, it does seem a lil' bit short-sighted and tactless on his part. Then again, I might give him the benefit of the doubt on this, since its such a freak accident, and it hasn't happened here in Fairfax for a long long time.
Screw Benefit of the Doubt (Greg Bouchillon - 5/10/2006 1:20:34 PM)
Is he's dumb enough to do that (even under those circumstances), then he's too stupid to be elected to any office above dog catcher, and even then I suspect he couldn't handle that job.
This is just a long string of crap he pulls. I hope we can find someone to run against him.
he's also supporting Harris Miller ... any connection?? (teacherken - 5/12/2006 5:51:53 AM)
just asking .....
Not sure (Greg Bouchillon - 5/12/2006 9:39:23 AM)
Connolly has always been a media whore, and this damages Miller, doesn't help him.
