The Happy Sound of a Republican Catfight

Today's Richmond Times Dispatch has an article on Republican infighting which is music to this Democrat's ear.  Seems that the virulently anti-tax Virginia Conservative Action PAC (VCAP) is "backing six challengers in the June 14 Republican primary, five of whom are seeking to oust GOP incumbents who voted at some point last year for higher taxes."  Excellent.

Even more excellent, the PAC doesn't call itself "Republican" at all, but "touts itself as a conservative...organization."  You've also got to love the ironic fact that two founding board members of this "conservative, not Republican" group are Bob McDonnell and Bill Bolling - Republican candidates for attorney general and Lt. Governor, respectively.  Ha ha ha ha ha.

According to Republican House Majority Leader H. Morgan Griffith, VCAPs efforts are "counterproductive...primary challenges create a distraction."  Republican Delegate Joe May says that "VCAP has sort of gone off the reservation as far as I'm concerned."  Meanwhile, the pro-Democratic group "RaisingKaine" says, "keep up the great work, VCAP; we love ya!"

Ah, the sweet sounds of Republicans and "conservatives" catfighting each other...
