Mark Warner to Hold Webb Fundraiser

According to today's Hotline:

On 5/11, ex-VA Gov. Mark Warner (D) will raise money for ex-Navy Sec. Jim Webb (D). A location is TBA. Warner held a fundraiser for ex-lobbyist Harris Miller (D) earlier in the year (Hotline sources, 4/28).

I guess Mark Warner truly is neutral in this race after all.  My enthusiasm for Mark Warner is now rekindled.  All Hail Mark Warner! :)

P.S. Feeling better now, Dannyboy? :)

[UPDATE:  From the Hotline Blog comes this...

We hear...

On May 11, ex-VA Gov. Mark Warner (D) will attend a fundraiser for VA Sen. candidate James Webb (D).

Earlier this year, Warner held a fundraiser for Webb primary opponent Harris Miller, which provided a good chunk of the high-dollar cash Miller reported to the FEC this quarter.

Warner's close friend, Don Beyer, is one Miller's most influential advocates.

And others in Warner's orbit are close to Miller. But national Dems who think that Webb has a better shot to beat George Allen have leaned on Warner to show the same love for Webb he and his aides show for Miller.

Warner, for now, will remain neutral. That means: he'll do for Webb what he did for Miller. That starts with the May 11 fundraiser. [MARC AMBINDER]

Draft Mark Warner (Josh - 4/28/2006 1:56:35 PM)
We may have to re-engage the DMW movement.  Let's face it, Eddie Ratcliff is awesome.

I agree, Eddie Ratliff rocks! (Lowell - 4/28/2006 2:21:18 PM)
Seriously, I'm just feeling so positive towards Mark Warner right now, I basically love anyone and anything associated with him.  I know, I know, restrain your enthusiasm.  Ha, too late!

Am I ever going to live that down, dude? (DanG - 4/28/2006 2:05:42 PM)
I always thought Warner was the guy for 2008.  I guess I was just a little disappointed before.  Now, I think the guy is like a god again.

Dan, this was all you! (Josh - 4/28/2006 3:28:44 PM)
Don't sell yourself short.  This is obviously a direct result of YOUR efforts.  You should go to the fundraiser so that Mark Warner can personally thank you for your excellent advice.

You go, Dannboy! (Lowell - 4/28/2006 3:35:53 PM)
:)

I don't think so... (DanG - 4/28/2006 3:37:13 PM)
My efforts?  From the comments on that post, I got the impression that Warner would punch me in the face before thanking me.  Plus, what would I be doing at a fundraiser?  I'm a college student, I have no money to give.

I'm just glad Warner's doing the right thing.  I was afraid not only for Jim Webb, but for Mark Warner as well.  I didn't want him to alienate anybody in the country, but especially activists in his own state.  He's our only chance at winning back the White House, and he's already got a hell of a primary opponent in Hillary Clinton.  He needs to keep everybody happy until late 2007.

Mark Warner for President!

Dan, that was a great post (Lowell - 4/28/2006 3:38:39 PM)
The people who criticized you had no clue what they were talking about.

yeah... (phriendlyjaime - 4/28/2006 3:45:46 PM)
I just read it and all of the comments.  that was some displaced anger, imo.

Get ready for a Mark Warner love swarm (Josh - 4/28/2006 4:18:24 PM)
blogs are gonna go nuts with this.

Told you he'd come through (JC - 4/28/2006 2:16:49 PM)
Mark Warner's the man, period.

Neutral-Schmeutral.  He's a closet Webb-head.

Mark Warner Can Win (Rebecca - 4/28/2006 2:20:13 PM)
Like Jim Webb, Mark Warner is the only candidate who can win the South.

Hillary once again showed her true colors by attending a reception with members of the Fox News staff.

Hillary is tied to the outsourcing lobby too (Info_Tech_Guy - 4/28/2006 2:32:05 PM)
Rebecca:

Hillary receives support from the Indian IT outsourcing/worker replacement firm "TATA" or "TCS". TATA has an office in NY.

Hillary blows alot of hot air on outsourcing issues. She wants to climb on the issue when it appears to generate useful publicity but she courts the outsourcing lobby and takes money from pro-outsourcing groups. So, she really won't do or say anything substantive.

The parallels to Miller are rather ironic. Google Hillary and TATA and outsourcing; I think you'll find the results interesting.

I am looking for credible alternatives to Hillary.

Well take a look at Mark Warner (JC - 4/28/2006 2:39:46 PM)
We're all quite proud of him, here in Virginia.

Yay! (Kathy Gerber - 4/28/2006 2:50:21 PM)
Now I don't have to take off my Warner 2008 sticker!!

Oh, yes!! (summercat - 4/29/2006 6:00:30 PM)
And not a moment too soon!!
