Thumb's up. (Laura86 - 4/26/2006 5:28:09 PM)
He couldn't be making me more proud.  However he has an extremely tough decision coming up with the death row case...as much as I am against the death penalty I realize the political implications if he were to grant clemency.  It's a tough spot for him.

Time for Kaine to keep his promise (DanG - 4/26/2006 5:34:39 PM)
During his campaign, Kaine promised to uphold the Death Penalty.  Now's his chance to make good on his word.  As a Democrat who supports the Death Penalty, and one woh voted for Kaine, I ask that you do as Mark Warner did before you.  If there is serious doubt of the man's guilt, put him in jail for life.  If he's guilty, you must comply with what the jury has suggested, because that is Virginia Law.

I have to say (Adam Malle - 4/26/2006 6:00:43 PM)
I think the gas tax issue is somewhat of a Catch-22 for Kaine. Republicans are pushing for Kaine's support of the gas tax and I personally think it would be good thing.  But, we all know that come four years from now in the next governor's race, it will be used against the party. We will be called the "tax raising liberals who raised the already high price of gas." Not that we wouldn't be blamed for raising taxes anyway.  I like that kaine is holding his ground in opposition of the tax; but, at the end of the day if it is in the compromise bill then he should sign it as a Republican bill and allow them to take any backlash for raising the gas tax witch he was against.

Stay loose Governor (Bubby - 4/26/2006 6:10:52 PM)
I listened to your monthly fireside chat with Bob Gibson on WVTF last night and you seemed tense and defensive.  Relax, your opponents have nothing but bile. The johnny-one-notes of tax cuts, deficit spending, and intolerance.  Keep listening and drive on.  Call if you need a hand.
