Mary Hynes and Libby Garvey for Jim Webb

From the Webb campaign comes great news:  two smart, committed, strong Democratic women and Arlington County School Board members, Vice Chair Mary Hynes (see photo below) and former Chair Libby Garvey (see photo above) - who finished second, just behind David Englin, in last year's contest for the Democrats' House of Delegates nomination in the 45th District - have both endorsed Jim Webb for U.S. Senate.  This is great news, because both Hynes and Garvey are well respected in Arlington and have large followings.  Their endorsements mean a lot, and I am very thankful for them.

Two Arlington School Board Members, Mary Hynes and Libby Garvey, endorsed Jim Webb for United States Senate today. Hynes has served on the Board since 1995, chaired the Board from 1997 to 1998, and currently serves as Vice-Chair. Garvey has served on the board since 1996 and was the Board+óGé¼Gäós Chair from 1999 to 2001 as well as from 2004 to 2005.

+óGé¼+ôJim Webb can beat George Allen,+óGé¼-¥ said Hynes. +óGé¼+ôAs Democrats, if we want to give ourselves the best chance to return effective education policies to Washington, we should select Jim as our nominee for U.S. Senate.+óGé¼-¥

+óGé¼+ôJim is the only Senate candidate who truly understands the problems that we are facing,+óGé¼-¥ said Garvey. +óGé¼+ôI+óGé¼Gäóm giving him my support because I believe he can unite all the people of Virginia and bring common sense solutions to Washington.+óGé¼-¥

* Arlington County Commissioner of Revenue Ingrid Morroy

Looks like Arlington is turning into a hotbed of support for Jim Webb, whose headquarters is located right near the Arlington County courthouse.  Nice.

It really is the case that as people get to know more about Jim, they are more impressed with him, his intellect, integrity, and ability to defeat Allen.  Keep at it Mr. Webb!  I'll see you tomorrow on the campaign trail>

These two ladies are very well known and well respected in Arlington.  And... they are great School Board members!
