A lame interview of George Allen

Man, wouldn't it be nice to have state-based organizations that keep tabs on the media like the nationally based Media Matters?  Check out this sad interview of George Allen by the North Carolina-based News & Observer, a total of five vague questions that fail to challenge him on any issue.

First, what's up with the title? "Allen priority is re-election in Va."  Oh, really?  Well, he might say so, but his recent itinerary shows otherwise.  A more accurate title: "Allen claims his priority is re-election in Va."

Second, how about challenging him on at least one issue? How about asking him about his flip-flop on hate crimes?  His incosistencies on abortion?  His vote to increase the debt ceiling? The reporter didn't ask Allen one tough question.

Third, how about a follow up question? When asked vaguely about Iraq, Allen lays all the blame on the Iraqis.  How about a follow-up about the failures of the administration?  Six generals didn't call for Rumsfeld's resignation for nothing.

This was simply a fluff piece that lacked any serious value, unfortunately. Hopefully, Allen will submit to some serious interviews in the future.

is so bad, it's almost funny.  This is one of those times. Lame-o.
