Moussaoui: Not that Bright

Maybe I don't understand. Maybe he's trying to get himself executed. If he were trying to save his life, would he really be doing this:
Taking the witness stand for the second time in his death-penalty trial Thursday, Moussaoui mocked a Navy sailor who wept on the stand as she described the death of two of her subordinates.
"I think it was disgusting for a military person" to cry, Moussaoui said of the testimony of Navy Lt. Nancy McKeown. "She is military, she should expect people at war with her to want to kill her."
While I was writing this, breaking news came over CNN:
Convicted 9/11 plotter Zacarias Moussaoui tells his jury he would be willing to kill Americans "any time, anywhere."
Just brilliant.

Kill this idiot now (Josh - 4/13/2006 4:14:51 PM)
I'm an anti-death penalty zealot. Still, this idiot makes me want to dismiss the jury and pull the trigger myself.
Unbelievealbe.
Isn't that Harris Miller's line? (Lowell - 4/13/2006 5:30:45 PM)

Moussaoui is crazy (andone - 4/25/2006 10:38:00 AM)
I read somewhere that it is typical for dozens, maybe hundreds of disturbed people confess to famous crimes to get the notoriety. That doesn't mean Moussaoui is innocent, but he does seem to crave the attention. Another death in the war on terror won't fix anything, and may make him a martyr to others. But this tragedy would be a lot less troubling than the others in this mess.
