As Senator George Allen concludes his whirlwind announcement tour in very select cities, we+óGé¼Gäód like to welcome him back to Virginia.

+óGé¼+ôGeorge Allen is the only Senator from Virginia who has ever kicked off his reelection campaign in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina,+óGé¼-¥ said Kristian Denny Todd, spokeswoman for Jim Webb. +óGé¼+ôAt this point, Virginia seems to be more of an after thought for Senator Allen given his recent travels (http://www.georgesjourneys.com), campaign hires and overall focus.+óGé¼-¥

Senator George Allen has spent a large amount of his time recently traveling to early presidential primary states such as Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina (http://www.georgesjourneys.com) in preparation for his run at the Republican nomination in 2008.  Allen has also added Cheney confidant Mary Matalin to his staff. 

At a recent press conference, Allen declined to commit to a full six year senate term if elected and characterized his time spent  (http://www.georgesjourneys.com) in other states as +óGé¼+ôbeneficial+óGé¼-¥ for Virginians because it afforded him the ability to get a +óGé¼+ôdifferent perspective.+óGé¼-¥

+óGé¼+ôI seriously doubt Senator Allen is seeking the +óGé¼-£perspective+óGé¼Gäó of South Carolinians and Iowans on the nearly 600,000 Virginians currently without health insurance or the roughly 130,000 unemployed Virginians,+óGé¼-¥ said Todd.  +óGé¼+ôVirginia deserves a senator who isn+óGé¼Gäót using his office as a placeholder as he seeks higher office.  Virginians deserve better.+óGé¼-¥
