The last days before a financial reporting period are a hectic time for the candidate. While normal people (a.k.a. "voters") do not care about these results, it is a barometer that the media, both MSM and Net-based, will follow closely.
When it comes to winning Democratic primaries, I am no expert. Ipso facto. However, I do know that a pre-filing rush of contributors to a campaign does many things. It raises money, it raises visibility and it raises morale.
I was there on March 17th when Jim Webb stunned the establishment at the Fairfax County Saint Patrick's Day straw poll. I have also been there when Jim spoke to activists and community leaders from Burke, Fairfax City and Vienna. Finally, I have met with him one-on-one and believe he has what it takes to win back Virginia's U.S. Senate seat.
Nothing says "momentum" more than a donation. I have three kids, a mortgage and a wife that permanently revoked my check-writing authority after our 2005 campaign. But some time between now and March 31st, I will find a way to suppport this candidacy by making an on-line contribution. Please join me in supporting Jim Webb by doing the same. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Chap Petersen
