This is hilarious.  Turns out that the husband of Judy Feder, who is running for Congress against Frank Wolf in the 10th District, is a professional sausage maker.  According to an article in  today's Washington Post ("From the CIA to Stylish Sausages"), Stanley Feder - "with a bachelor's degree from MIT, a PhD from Brandeis University, a 21-year career with the CIA and a thriving consultancy in strategic planning and political risk assessment" - decided as he approached his 60th birthday to start making sausages professionally (his company is known as "Simply Sausages").

As the Post article points out, "Sausage-making is far from pretty. The smell can be overwhelming..."  As the great 19th century German Prussian politician, Otto von Bismarck, said: "If you like laws and sausages, you should never watch either one being made."  Yet that's exactly what Judy and  Stanley Feder might be doing in a few months - making laws and making sausages.  That is, if Judy can unseat Frank Wolf in a tough race for Congress.  Hey Judy, if you're reading this, can I add one more question to our interview?  "Which do you prefer, the REAL making of sausage of the METAPHORICAL making of sausage?"  Ha.
