"Former Northern Virginia Congresswoman Leslie Byrne Endorses Jim Webb for U.S. Senate"

(Fairfax County) ? Former Northern Virginia Congresswoman and Democratic nominee for Lt. Governor Leslie Byrne today announced her support and full endorsement of Jim Webb for U.S. Senate.

?Today I announce my full support for Jim Webb and his candidacy for U.S. Senate,? said Byrne.  ?I believe Jim is the best kind of democrat who will stand up for all Virginians as well as fight for what is right in Washington. Jim is the kind of candidate we need to win in November.? ?Jim will do us proud, not only in this campaign but as our Senator.?

Jim Webb is a former U.S. Secretary of the Navy, award-winning journalist and author. Webb officially kicked off his campaign to seek the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate last week in Richmond.

Byrne will serve as Senior Advisor to the Webb campaign.

Issues like this will arise as Webb ?proves? himself to Democratic audiences. Nonetheless, for an emerging candidacy such as Webb?s, having endorsements of major political figures such as Byrne is a critical sign of strength."]
