Allen Advisor: Webb is a "Wealthy Liberal"

If it wasn't obvious earlier that the Allen campaign is panic-stricken at the thought of James Webb's candidacy, it is becoming more obvious each day.  First, they make it as obvious as can be that they badly, desperately want Harris Miller to be the Democratic nominee.  Now, Allen's chief political advisor, Dick Wadhams (photo at left), makes it even clearer: "We welcome Jim Webb to the race and know there will a spirited contest in the Democratic primary between two wealthy liberals."

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Sorry, had to get that out of my system.  But c'mon now, what a joke!  Are these people terrified of James Webb or what?  Ha ha, Webb is a "wealthy liberal?"  As to the first adjective, I don't know how these Republican strategists define "wealthy," but Webb is certainly no Bill Gates.  Hell, he's not even a Harris Miller in that respect, able to match donations $1 for every $2 or whatever.  Yeah, Webb lives a comfortable life, but puh-leze!

And "liberal?"  Does this sound familiar or what?  I mean, seriously, is there any Democrat in these peoples' eyes who is NOT a "liberal?"  Do these people even know what the word means?  I strongly doubt it, so let's go to Wikipedia for a concise definition (bolding added for emphasis):

Liberals tend to see themselves in the context of their fellow man and woman and assume their rights are no greater and their privileges no greater than anyone else's, regardless of wealth or position.  Key liberal values are empathy, compassion, trust, and cooperation. Liberalism is an empirical philosophy that attempts to make changes that will improve life even if those changes run contrary to previously accepted positions.... Liberalism is open to change and receptive to empiricism.  Liberals generally seek a balanced and flexible "mixed economy".... liberalism is antisocialist, when socialism means state ownership of the basic means of production and distribution, because American liberals doubt that bases for political opposition and freedom can survive when all power is vested in the state...In line with the general pragmatic, empirical basis of liberalism, American liberal philosophy embraces the idea that if substantial abundance and equality of opportunity can be achieved through a system of mixed enterprise, then there is no need for a rigid and oppressive bureaucracy.

Hmmmm.....on second thought, maybe former Reagan Navy Secretary and "Jacksonian Democrat" James Webb really IS a "liberal."  At least by this definition.  But something tells me that's not what Dick Wadhams is getting at here.  Instead, Wadhams is freaked out by the prospect that James Webb will be the Democratic nominee against his boy, George "California Cowboy" Allen.  And he's rolling out the "heavy artillery" against Webb early.

Liberal, liberal, liberal!  Ha.  If that's the Republicans' main line of "attack" on Webb, perhaps it's time for George Allen to nail down a nice law firm job, starting sometime around January 2007 perhaps.  Maybe Jerry Kilgore can help.  After all, Kilgore and Allen have a lot in common.  For starters, Kilgore and HIS political strategist, Scott "Hitler Ad" Howell, used the same strategy against Tim Kaine - liberal liberal LIBERAL! - and look how well it worked for them.  Heh.
