Transitional RK community home?

First of all, I would like to thank Lowell for all what he has brought to Virginia. Without having this virtual club house, it would have been impossible for many of us to keep up with Virginian politics or grassroots organization.
Now, since RK is going to close shop, it would be nice to have a transitional home to go in case that coming January 1 the replacement site is not ready.
Ideally, it would be nice to have the replacement site up and running within within the next two weeks, even if it is not finished, so that we can go over and register.
If that is not the case, then maybe a Virginian blogger with community blogging software could offer to host the community in the mean time?
Any volunteers? :)

Why don't you just start a Google group? (Lowell - 11/27/2008 7:22:44 AM)
"RK alums" or something like that?

...you could start your own blog if you're really ambitious. :)
Google group is a good idea (Hugo Estrada - 11/28/2008 8:50:05 AM)
That would be an easy way to keep contact with everyone while something else emerges, if that something else takes more time.
And since Code said that the something else is already in the works and there will be an announcement next week, I will stay back so that I don't step on anyone's toes :) Thanks!
Working on it... (code - 11/27/2008 2:17:37 PM)
Sit tight Hugo... we're working on a new blog right this minute. Looks for some announcements next week. DEMPAC lives!

I'm for a transitional site. (Rebecca - 11/27/2008 2:45:52 PM)
It wouldn't be so hard to start a new blog if three or four people would agree to rotate responsibilities. I think its too much work for one person who has a full time job.

Please let's keep this community together. I'm grateful someone is working on this.
If you like the Soapblox software... (cvllelaw - 12/1/2008 12:39:36 AM)
...come see us at Democratic Central.
http://www.democraticcentral.com, or just follow through the RK blogroll. I focus on Central Virginia stuff because that's a presently under-served niche, and it's what I know, but I'm happy to have people talk about progressive politics from anywhere.
