OBAMA ECONOMY WILL REFLECT RHODE ISLAND ECONOMY - HIGHEST STATE UNEMPLOYMENT / WEAKEST STATE ECONOMY:
Rhode Island has the highest unemployment rate in the country, 8.8%, 40% higher than average in this country. Why? Because Rhode Island has the highest TAXES in the country. There's an organization called the Tax Foundation. They produce a State Tax index which ranks what they call "business friendliness." On that list, Rhode Island finished in 50th place...dead last. No other state tax system is as consistently poor as Rhode Island's and a major part of the problem is high tax rates in every category: corporate taxes, unemployment taxes which employers pay, even property taxes. Rhode Island has the highest overall tax structure in the country and therefore the highest unemployment rate in the country. Now, by raising taxes on corporations, Senator Obama is proposing spreading the economy of Rhode Island to the rest of the country.
We HAVE the crystal ball. Rhode Island is not a right-to-work state, its driven all big business out of the state, 80% of all business in the state employs only 20 people or less. But Rhode Island is learning from its mistakes and is now working to DECREASE taxes on corporations, not increase them.

Just recently in May 2008, Rashid Khalidi, wrote an article characterizing the issues surrounding creating a Palestinian state inside Israel as a "running sore", and this in the very first sentence of the article.. Just 5 days later, Obama was interviewed in the Atlantic magazine in which he refers to the same issue by saying "this constant sore does infect all of our foreign policy". This shows that Rashid Khalidi and Obama have stronger ties than Obama admits, and that the anti-Israel Khalidi would in fact influence Obama's future policies toward the Middle East and Israel if he becomes president.
I find this email curious because it appears to have been sent specifically to the entire staff of my agency (they were addressed directly rather than bcc). Moreover, in the state cuts two weeks ago four of our employees were laid off; those four people were NOT included on the list.
So, has anyone else that works for the state received an email like this one? Is someone with easy access to state email lists using those lists for political ends? While all our staff emails are online, there is no "email all" feature on our public website. While one could generate a list like this, they would need to enter the addresses individually.
As far as Rhode Island goes, there's an ounce of truth to what it says about tax rates and the right to work aspect. Like a lot of northeastern states, manufacturing jobs migrated to the southeast before being shipped overseas.
