Republican Chris Shays of Connecticut says:

"He has lost his brand as a maverick," Rep. Chris Shays, a Connecticut Republican and co-chairman of the McCain campaign in that state, told the Yale Daily News in the latest criticism. "He did not live up to his pledge to fight a clean campaign."

Yeah, add Chris Shays to the list of Republicans who've had it with the Tour de Hate '08, also know as the McCain-Palin campaign.

Shays not bad for a Republican (bamboo - 10/29/2008 4:56:53 PM)
The NYT endorsed Shays earlier this week because of his moderate views, supporting increase in minimum wage and dealing with global warming. Shays also spoke out early criticizing Abramoff and on other GOP/Bush scandals. He's in trouble in this election as the only Republican member of the House still standing in all of New England.

Sez Susan Collins: "Last Republican in New England, please turn out the lights. I guess that's you, Joe!"

Is this staged? (Bryan Scrafford - 10/29/2008 9:34:23 PM)
I'm wondering if this is staged by the McCain campaign in an attempt to show just how much of a "maverick" Sarah Palin really is. Some people might think that if she's willing to voice her disagreement with John McCain, then she'd really make a good Vice President.

Sorry, off topic... (Bryan Scrafford - 10/29/2008 9:35:59 PM)
I was just reading about Palin considering 2012.
