Virginia Republican Party Chairman Jeff Frederick says he knows his state's historically conservative voters, but that John McCain's campaign dismissed his input even as the Republican presidential candidate slid in polls and the state unexpectedly became a battleground."They act as if, 'How could you tell us to change our plan?'" said Mr. Frederick, who had offered advice on how to minimize losses in the state's liberal-leaning northern region.
Ha, gotta love it. Also, there's this instant classic from the same article:
"They ignore you. They don't keep their commitments. And word is that the party has a clock counting down the days till it can throw the McCain people out of state party's headquarters," said one state party leader, who spoke on the condition of anonymity
Yes, we Democrats have a "clock counting down as well," except ours is calibrated "till it can throw the Bush-Cheney people out of the White House!" (not to mention Republican felons like Sarah Palin's pal Ted Stevens)
I mean, Time magazine shows up, and he tells volunteers to compare Obama to bin Laden. Faced with an upsurge of new Democrats in NoVa and new voters across the Commonwealth, he and McCain cronies launch a campaign of neo-McCarthyism and smears that sound ridiculous to the young and outrageous to the old. Keep it up, Jeff! Next up: please help out Bob McDonnell!
The picture that really bugs me when it is on the front page is the one with Palin sitting in the car with that stupid smile on her face.
Come to think of it...I love that plan.
Call Obama 'Osama' several times.
Bash Northern Virginia liberals. (Oh wait, that was McCain's surrogates. I guess Frederick has a right to be annoyed at that.)
Keep up the good work, Jeff!
