Priceless.
"Note Re-Broadcast Time: Meet the Press is re-broadcast on MSNBC-TV Sunday nights at 6 pm ET/3pm PT and again at 2 am ET/11pm PT."
I certainly intend to stay tuned...
Thanks!

To repeat from my earlier RK post about this possibility; just imagine what might have happened with this election if Colin Powell had been John McCain's vice-presidential running mate...
Next step: Make a concerted effort to bring Colin Powell into the Obama/Biden administration and, possibly, into the Democratic Party as well.
Is it November 4 yet?!
Please stay tuned...
Thanks!
Steve
I would like to see him out there with Obama, but he stated that with so little time left, he is going to leave it up to Obama and McCain to slug it out. I think he must feel that it is enough to publicly endorse Obama like he did, in spite of his long time friendship and relationship with McCain. Let's hope that he changes his mind.
I was disappointed when Powell chose not to run for President the first time it came up, although I admired his being unafraid to say it was in deference to his wife's wishes.
I may never forgive Powell for facilitating the war in Iraq by lying to the world in his presentation to the U.N., although I believe he sincerely feels worse about that than I ever could.
I don't put a lot in the so-called "character" issue, because I've been burned on that with people I've been close to, so how I can really tell with someone I've never met?
I think the key quality to look for in voting for a representative, especially for President of the U.S., is leadership. I don't think anyone can question Powell's capacity in this regard. The latest statement by him this morning on Meet the Press about how it shouldn't matter even if Obama were a Muslim to me is a perfect example of leadership on a very important issue right now.
Powell endorsing Obama as his choice to lead us next year, especially given the challenges we'll face is not the "game changer" for which the media pine. After all, Obama's already clearly ahead. But I think Powell's endorsement will prove to be the game ender, and all I can say is "At last!"
Thanks!
Steve
Nevertheless, Powell knew at the time of his presentation that there were serious weaknesses in the Administration's case for going to war, and he knew or should have known that his presentation at that time in that way would be pivotal.
He's expressed deep regret over that presentation, and I bet, if he could turn back time, he wouldn't have done it, certainly not in that "case closed" way.
Then again, he probably would have had his remarks vetted before hand, and, if he wouldn't commit to a "case closed" argument, the presentation would have been given by someone else, probably Negroponte, and we probably would have gone to war right when we did, and in the way we did, anyway. I think we would have done this even had Powell resigned in protest before the war.
Today's endorsement will be a supreme test for the GOP, the Bush Administration, and McCain and his supporters. They probably won't immediately go after Powell, but when the nutjobs do so, it'll be very telling how quickly they move to denounce the haters. They don't have a very good record thus far. In fact, about the only weapons left in their arsenal are hate and fear. Perhaps if they go further in that direction and the polls further tighten, Powell will go on the road for Obama.
Thanks!
Steve
