The Obama campaign announced this morning that it had raised a record $150 million last month, and had added 632,000 new donors to its total. The amount raised shattered the campaign's record from August...
In announcing the Obama figure, David Plouffe, the campaign manager, said the average donation for September was less than $100...
All counted, 3.1 million people have contributed to his campaign, Mr. Plouffe said.
This, combined with the Obama campaign's extraordinary grassroots operations, represents the "Netroots Rising" at its finest. For more, watch Obama campaign manager David Plouffe here. Congratulations to the Obama campaign, and let's all keep it up by donating whatever we can here. Basically, give until it hurts, and as Markos says, "leave it all on the road!" (I prefer the sports metaphor, "leave it al the field," but either way, you get the idea) :)
P.S. Where is that money being spent? For part of the answer, click here. Also, how do you think it's possible for Obama to have 3-4 times as many field offices in Virginia as John McCain?
A record 100,000 people rallied with Barack in St. Louis yesterday, and another 75,000 in Kansas City last night. Back in Chicago, we were tallying up our latest fundraising numbers.:Supporters like you have completely transformed how political campaigns raise money, so I wanted you to be the first to know how we did in September.
I recorded a short video to share the latest numbers:

When Barack entered this race, he put his faith in the power of ordinary supporters like you coming together and building a movement for change from the bottom up.
That's exactly how we got this far -- and you should feel proud of all we have accomplished together.
But with just 16 days left in this election, we can't slow down now. Please take a minute to watch the video and find out where we stand:

Thanks for everything you're doing,

Obama for America
Research 2000 has the race stabilizing at 7 points, Obama 50%-McSame 43%.
TIPP has Obama leading by 7.3 points, with McSame under 40% for the first time in its poll.
Gallup gives Obama a 50%-42% lead among registered voters (lower leads among likely voters).
As usual, we completely ignore Zogby because it's a piece of crap (just look at the internals - they make no sense and never make any sense, whether Obama's way up or not).
In NC, people are voting big. The first two days of early voting are done, and it favors Obama. On the first day, it was 114,000 first-day voters, 64% Democrat, 21% Republican and 15% unaffiliated. On the second day, it was 100,000, so up to 214,000 voting early thus far, and 62% Democrat, 22% Republican, and 16% unaffiliated. Early voting in NC continues through Nov 1st. About 46% of all registered voters in the state are Democrats, and 32% Republican. This is going to be a good indicator to see how big a margin of early voters the Democrats can maintain in the state.
