CNN is reporting bad news for the Biden family:
[Biden's] campaign spokesman, David Wade, put out a statement saying "the campaign has cancelled Sen. Biden's schedule today and tomorrow because of a serious illness in Jill Biden's family. Hospice has advised the Bidens to remain close by, and we appreciate everyone's respect for the family's privacy."
Wade is referring to Biden's wife's mother who is in a hospice in Pennsylvania.
Joe Biden had been scheduled to campaign in Henrico and Roanoke tomorrow. The important appearances have been canceled so that Biden can be with his family. Our thoughts and/or prayers are with you, Joe!

Sad news... (ericy - 10/4/2008 4:56:11 PM)
They said hospice, so I am not expecting good news...

It's only appropriate for him to be with his wife and family during this time.
More family values (Teddy - 10/4/2008 5:11:54 PM)
than someone I could mention, going on a long political trip leaking amniotic fluid, and, later, dragging a newborn baby around endlessly under spotlights mingling with noisy, undoubtedly germ-ridden crowds all for personal political glory. Forgive my lack of charity.

Thank you for your clarity. I wonder how the baby handles all that noise. Little boy doesn't have any say in what they do with him. Then she hands him to a 7 year old to hold while standing up. Why aren't her children in school. That whole family is on a pay roll.
I'm so grateful this didn't happen last week for the Bidens. I hope the family can find peace.
I wish the family all the best (Pain - 10/4/2008 8:10:52 PM)
The people at hospice are saints. All of them.
I hope this isn't what it appears, and I hope she is able to watch her son become our next VP in 30 days.
Biden to be in my town next Tuesday (relawson - 10/4/2008 10:41:42 PM)
I hope his mother recovers.
