As governor, Palin sued the Bush Administration after its decision to list polar bears under the Endangered Species Act because protection of polar bears threatens oil-drilling operations. Palin, in contrast to the overwhelming majority of experts, believes that global warming is not man-made.
Palin led a campaign in Alaska to brutally shoot wolves and other predatory animals from helicopters and airplanes to artificially boost moose and caribou populations for trophy hunters. She offered $150 for the left foreleg of each dead wolf as an incentive, despite the fact that Alaskans voted against this twice. This year, Palin spend $400,000 of public funds to defeat another initiative banning aerial hunting. The Defenders of Wildlife are airing a scathing ad on this.

For the first time ever, The Humane Society of the United States has taken a stand for a presidential and vice presidential candidate (Obama/Biden) and against (McCain/Palin). Their Legislative Fund states the following:
Palin's "retrograde policies on animal welfare and conservation have led to an all-out war on Alaska's wolves and other creatures. Her record is so extreme that she has perhaps done more harm to animals than any other current governor in the United States".
See "Our Pick for a More Humane White House":
Palin, who talks as if an authority on compassion and sympathy, cares not one whit for the suffering of other animals. She slaughters them for pleasure.
At a time when the majority of Americans understand that we need to protect our environment and show compassion to other animals for the sake of human life and all other life on this planet, Palin stands as decidedly anti-life.
