John McCain: A Snide, Lying, Petulant, Immature, Condescending Jerk

This man wants to be President of the United States, yet you can hear the contempt just dripping from his tongue when he addresses these women that dare to question the lies he's been trying to spread about his opponent and the contradictions in his record.

What a pairing he and Governor Palin are. I thought we couldn't get a more disastrous and frankly sociopathic pairing of personalities than the Bush/Cheney combination, but apparently I was sorely mistaken.

This man must not become the next President of the United States.

Notice the tongue . . . (JPTERP - 10/1/2008 1:27:32 AM)
sticking in the lower lip around the 40 second mark when he's talking about the "evidence" that he has to support his campaign ad.  It's one of those "tells" like involuntarily touching the nose, or looking down to avoid eye contact when a person is telling a lie.

The questioner though could have pushed him on this one -- e.g. the fact that his ad omits relevant details -- that its a deceptive ad, because of those omissions.

Tell us what you REALLY think Ron1 (Jim White - 10/1/2008 5:17:59 AM)
Don't tip-toe around the issue! LOL

Subtletly is generally not my tact :) (Ron1 - 10/1/2008 11:42:41 AM)

Wow (TheGreenMiles - 10/1/2008 8:28:31 AM)
If this is the John McCain we're going to see for the next month -- contemptuous, seething with rage -- this is going to be an ugly last few weeks of the campaign. If you think he's been a hateful liar so far, you ain't seen nothin' yet. But fortunately, all indications are that the angrier McCain gets, the more voters turn to the rational leadership of Barack Obama.

He was quite dismissive wasn't he? (mishanti - 10/1/2008 8:28:37 AM)
He hasn't heard any conservatives dismiss Palin?? Where has he been? Under a rock? Even George Will came out against her recently. I guess George was at a Georgetown party when he wrote his column.

was he being strategic here (or is it tactical?)? (Karla - 10/1/2008 10:52:59 AM)
How absurd of him to say that.

Part of me thinks he was being sarcastic in his irritating and inappropriate way.  "Thanks for reminding me, I hadn't heard that I was down in the polls."  Like at the town hall where someone asked him about his age and he gave a straight-up-ish answer then concluded with something like, "Thanks for the question, jerk."

The other part thinks he was talking to the low-information voter in an attempt to confuzzle them.  If he says it then it can make it true without any other sources of information.

The beauty (tragedy, really) of John McCain's personality is that he can do both at the same time.

We can't let this man be president. (Cliff Garstang - 10/1/2008 8:48:56 AM)
What a complete jerk.

He's beyond "jerk" (Lowell - 10/1/2008 8:52:12 AM)
He's unstable and a total hothead, as many of his Republican colleagues say privately but won't say publicly.

What you're seeing .... (ub40fan - 10/1/2008 9:23:28 AM)
is that things are going badly in his campaign. Sarah Palin was a bad picked forced upon him by the Ditto-heads. She's an attractive but essentially empty vessel from the far right wing of his party. Only that base could love her .... and make apologies for her like: " It's the liberal media and the Georgetown chattering class who just don't understand her."

The fact that leading Conservative commentators are essentially saying "Palin is out of her league" ... is problem that McCain doesn't want to talk about and is essentially starting to lash out at the media.

Gwen Iffial is reported to be writing a book about Obama and Black politicians. Watch team McCain for spin - If Palin does poorly in the debate it will be because Iffial is in the Obama camp.

The gold standard for media reporting is the Jim Lehrer News hour team. They are always Fair and Balanced. McCain will have no one to blame but himself and the Rush Limbaughs of this world for wrecking his campaign  ..... Of course a dumb war and economic metal down doesn't help this new Republican standard bearer either.

OBAMA & BIDEN win by a LANDSLIDE!!!

The War Party (Teddy - 10/1/2008 9:33:13 AM)
is in McCain's pocket. The War Party consists of:

1) the Revelations-based evangelicals panting after Armageddon (ready to do what it takes to hasten the arrival of End Days, including supporting "Greater Israel" and bombing Iran);

2) the authoritarian and angry military who see everything as a fight and anyone who does not support total military victory as a betrayal of all their sacrifice (and who especially despise wimpy diplomacy as proposed by Webb and Obama, who {just don't get it"); and finally

3) those who prosper off the profits of the military industrial complex that feeds off endless war (including not just the greedy CEOs and shareholders but those employed by the companies whose paychecks depend on those profits, all of whom wrap themselves in the flag while feeding at the trough).

Do not underestimate the numbers or dedication of these groups, most of whom would---- in fact, do---- consider it God's will or their patriotic duty to tinker with voting in order to steal the election for their side, or otherwise prevent the victory of the other side.

Contempt and Condescension (anitab - 10/1/2008 1:35:16 PM)
If McCain treats everyone he disagrees with condescendingly and contemptuously as he did in this interview and as he did in the first debate with Obama, imagine him meeting with a world leader with whom he disagrees.  Great way to bring someone over to your point of view.

What a Pr*ck (Josh - 10/1/2008 5:07:48 PM)
just astonishing.

Keith Olberman (Jim White - 10/1/2008 8:28:00 PM)
just called McSames antics a "meltdown"!
