Bailout Bungled by Bad Bugling?

Now, I am well aware that everyone's very upset about the lack of passage of an economic bailout by the U. S. House of Representatives earlier today, but is it possible that this was merely the result of some bad bugling?

Having earned my bugling merit badge as a Boy Scout some 45 years ago, I just happen to know a thing or two about bugling, and I used to be a pretty good trumpet player as well, but we can talk about that another time.  Right now, we just need to get to the bottom of this mess and straighten it out before it's too late...

Last week, when John McCain suspended his presidential campaign and charged back to Washington, D. C. in order to solve our economic crisis, one can easily imagine him grabbing up a nearby bugle and sounding out "Charge"!

But earlier today, is it possible that a large portion of the House Republicans who voted against the bailout misunderstood McCain's bugle call of last week and, instead, retreated?

Please go just below the fold and click on the links to hear these two bugle calls and then decide for yourself...
Bugle Calls, complete with videos:

First, "Charge";

(appropriately taken from the Virginia Civil War battle of Bull Run, or Second Manassas)

or:

(Is that a video of voters being run over by an out-of-control House Republican truck?)

...and then, "Retreat";

(Good job, Boy Scout!)
------------------------------------------
Now that you've heard the bugle calls for "Charge" and "Retreat", what's your call on this one?

Did the House Republicans merely misunderstand McCain's bugle call?  If so, is there time for a better bugler to make that call?

Should we blame the bugler, or could it be that the buglees are at fault here?  I'd hate to think that our economy crashed due to some misunderstood, bungled bugling...

Regardless, please stay "tuned."

Thanks!

Steve
