Meanwhile, Obama has to go on the air and explain this crisis in economic terms, not the usual political talking points.
He also needs to get even tougher, putting the blame squarely where it belongs. He has done this to a point. But needs to be far more specific. Show what else he'll do to build confidence in financial markets. The crisis is the result of massive mismanagement of our economy and senseless stripping off of all the protections put in place after the last banking crisis in the 1980s. The specific role of McCain advisers in the evolution of the crisis (specifically what Phil
Gramm did).
As one family member said, this is a "street fight." And it is not clear we (Dems) are fighting as strongly as we need to. I normally don't like "fight" language. But we are in a fight--for our economic survival at home.
Perhaps we should do some special coverage on the economic crisis? What do you think?
