Glenn Nye's Brother Defends Him Against Thelma Drake's Crazy Attacks

A powerful letter by Glenn Nye's brother, Kent. Both Glenn and Kent served in Iraq, Glenn as a diplomat and Kent as a soldier. And Thelma Drake? Well, she hung out in Washington, DC and played politics with the Iraq War, then attacked two men who served there. Is this election a no-brainer or what?
While America's working families gather around their kitchen tables to assess how our nation's economic crisis will effect them, Thelma Drake is preoccupied with attacking me over where I kept my socks while I was serving my nation in Iraq.
Earlier this week, Thelma Drake falsely and personally attacked my brother Glenn and me. Her accusations were completely baseless, and an in-depth investigation by the Virginian-Pilot proved them to be nothing but empty, scurrilous attacks.
Glenn's campaign team tells me he needs to raise $5,112 online by his September 30th deadline to help combat these attacks. Will you help us stand up against our opponent's empty attacks by donating $25, $50, $100 or $250 today?
Like my brother, I too share a sense of community service. Inspired by the way our nation came together after September 11th, I joined the Army. Then I joined my brother and went to Iraq to work on the economic side of the counter-insurgency.
Now, I just returned home from Iraq last week, and the last thing I expected was to be greeted by hollow accusations and senseless attacks. Thelma Drake's campaign claimed that they didn't believe I had "maintained a room" or had "access to a kitchen." I can let them know right now-I had a place to lay my head and access to a kitchen both at my home in the US and in Iraq because of the brave work of our soldiers.
This is the sort of attitude veterans like me can't stand from Washington. Will you help us ensure that the voters of the Second District know the truth about Thelma Drake and her lies?
The truth is that Thelma Drake is vulnerable and is resorting to an all out smear campaign to distract voters from her failure to do anything about the real issues our country is facing. Will you help us continue to build momentum by donating $25, $50, $100 or $250 today?

Thelma Drake got elected to Congress in the first place by sliming David Ashe, a Marine veteran of Iraq, as "soft on terror." This time, Thelma, your slime will not work. People are paying attention, and voters know who you are, and what you really stand for.
By the way, any peep from Thelma, a real estate agent, on her position on the bailout? Seems like she should be leading the charge, if she really does have a brain somewhere in that head, and if all that so-called experience is worth anything at all.

And things are going really well! The latest poll numbers have shown positive movement and the more that Glenn's story is getting out- the more support he is getting.
Thelma Drake has a lot to answer for- like her votes on SCHIPS, the GI Bill, etc. Instead she choses to personally attack Glenn Nye and his brother. Drake claims to be "bipartisan", yet cannot name one instance when she reached across the aisle.
