Bloom is off the rose for Sarah "failin'" Palin.
...virtues Palin would bring to the ticket: She's a reformer, a steadfast opponent of earmarks, a proponent of transparency and clean government. Subsequent reporting has revealed that Palin embodies the precise opposite of every one of these virtues. She appointed unqualified cronies, abused her power to punish personal enemies, and has displayed a Cheney-esque passion for government secrecy. Her boast of having put the state airplane on eBay was undermined by subsequent revelations that she failed to actually sell it on eBay.
Of course, she was also supposed to win the dog lover vote, too, but the $150 per forepaw bounty may have reduced some of the enthusiasm.
Palin is now driving voters squarely into the Obama camp:
One thought pushes fence-sitters to the left: PalinFive weeks ago, the St. Petersburg Times convened a group of Tampa Bay voters who were undecided about the presidential election. Their strong distrust of Barack Obama suggested it was a group ripe for John McCain to win over.
Not anymore. The group has swung dramatically, if unenthusiastically, toward Democrat Obama. Most of them this week cited the same reason: Sarah Palin.
New scandals from the Sara Quaylin every day.
Gov. Sarah Palin has surrendered important gubernatorial duties to the Republican presidential campaign. McCain staff are handling public and press questions about actions she has taken as governor. The governor who said, "Hold me accountable," is hiding behind the hired guns of the McCain campaign to avoid accountability. Is it too much to ask that Alaska's governor speak for herself, directly to Alaskans, about her actions as Alaska's governor?
A press conference Thursday showed how skewed Alaska's relationship with its own governor has become.
McCain-Palin campaign spokesman Ed O'Callaghan announced that Todd Palin will not comply with a subpoena to testify about his role in Troopergate, the Legislature's investigation into whether Palin abused her power in forcing out former public safety commissioner Walt Monegan.
O'Callaghan also announced that Alaska's governor is "unlikely" to cooperate with the investigation by the Alaska Legislature about questionable conduct by Alaska's chief executive.

but "rapture as an environmental policy?" this could be an indicator of the priority she puts on that 7th Millennium Development Goal. to me that is a concern (among many many concerns actually.)
whether i like her or not is one thing, when her philosophy has, it seems to me in many cases, an influence on the policy of the people, that's another.
at the moment, the poll is weighing in in her favor. (wonder how many times a day she's voting onit?)
