"We are extremely outraged at Governor Palin's decision to reinstate a wolf bounty to entice hunters to kill more wolves in the five control areas as reported in today's Anchorage Daily News. Even worse, we know she is seriously considering allowing wolf killing from helicopters. Bounties have no place in modern wildlife management and undoubtedly would lead to the illegal killing of wolves.

You know, I'm a hunter. (Pain - 9/19/2008 12:34:47 PM)
I'm a hunter, and I don't want to watch that video again. I've seen it once a few days ago. Way too disturbing.
Agreed (DanG - 9/19/2008 12:45:03 PM)
This breaks all the tennants of hunting. Shows an utter lack of respect for nature, which any true sportsman must have.
I'm still worried (concerned even? hah!) that the gun lobby (stpickrell - 9/19/2008 4:40:31 PM)
will paint this as a 'ZOMG the Democrats hate gun owners and will send jackbooted thugs to take your guns' ...
It would be well to have a followup advertisement with hunters talking about the cruelty, etc. of that method of hunting.
But I've heard that ad has had the most impact of all the ads so far this season.
This is an ad that goes to the heart of all Americans. Hunters are among the most disgusted by this. The emotional impact of this ad is off the charts.
Agreed. (Lowell - 9/19/2008 5:16:05 PM)
It's utterly abominable.
Now, what about one on factory farming, which is even more evil than the aerial wolf hunting?
You won't see one on that (Rebecca - 9/19/2008 8:56:08 PM)
You won't see one on that because hige corporations are behind it as they are behind GMOs.
Horrible images from that video (Catzmaw - 9/19/2008 12:56:54 PM)
I'm sorry I saw it, but it does drive the point home. I don't hunt, but have no problem with those who do as long as they have ethics. Hunting has a place in our wildlife management as it helps maintain balance in wildlife populations and promotes conservation, but this idea of killing animals just for sport and to claim a bounty is repellant.
You could use the same word (chiefsjen - 9/19/2008 1:12:25 PM)
to describe Palin: repellant!
shudder
Or possibly "repellent" (Lowell - 9/19/2008 8:41:46 PM)
