I'm still not sure why she wanted to have the librarian removed. Did the librarian simply not move quickly enough to ban the books or was there something else? I find this whole issue confusing.
Yikes!! As Palin might say .... God help us!!!
If she becomes Commander in Chief, what will she try to do to the Federal workforce? To the military? To the diplomatic corps? One spiteful person with power can wreak a lot of havoc.
You don't cross Sarah Palin in Alaska. Not if you work for the local or state government and want to keep your job. And yes, federal employees are already worried about that. Now, to scare you more, John McCain thinks our U.S. Merchant Marine service should be outsourced. I'll have more details on that - I don't think there are links, this will be original research so it will take a little time.
Under Bush-Cheney there's been a trend to outsource a lot of functions that were historically performed by the military, such as security, to private contractors. I suspect that will accelerate under McCain-Palin. What makes that dangerous is that we're basically talking about mercenaries with no accountability to the public in military and security positions.
I would be very afraid. In fact, I am very afraid.

our local library has a banned book month with a whole double shelf dedicated to the books that have been recommended for banning or that schools and churches have declared banned. among them are Harry Potter, Shakespeare, The Bible, Hellboy, Alice in Wonderland, War and Peace, Tom Sawyer . . . so many more good books. just pathetic.
