Great choice of a small town.  Congratulations on getting a picture of the correct school on your post.  I here that's hard to do as many military hospitals look like schools, too.  I'm sure the Republicans will seize on the two apparently Greek columns flanking the entrance, but what can you do?

That's actually not the picture of my high school. :)  The picture above is the middle school, in town on Main street. Just in case anyone gets lost. The high school is at 1 Pioneer Drive.

It was listed on Flickr as the high school (Lowell - 9/6/2008 3:37:11 PM)
I'll replace it with one of the high school...

Welcome To Lebanon Senator Obama (crackerjacks - 9/6/2008 6:44:56 PM)
I work in Lebanon. I am so happy he has decided to come to this little unknown Appalachian town. Lebanon is Home Town USA "Mountain style". My hopes are that he will get more support from the people in the further most SW Virginia area. I think maybe Mark Warner played a role in getting Barack here, with his mention of Lebanon at his DNC speech

I HOPE (NoDuh - 9/6/2008 10:49:07 PM)
I hope either Mark Warner, Jim Webb or both will attend the town hall as well.

No tickets for me (again) (KathyinBlacksburg - 9/7/2008 10:48:24 PM)
Last week at Rick Boucher's "Acres of Democrats" I asked if he would bring Obama to SW VA again.  He said he was working on it.  Little did I know it would happen this fast.

I didn't know about Bristol VA.  I found out about Lynchburg and Martinsville after all tix were gone.  And this weekend, while doing the right thing and spending my time with my visiting daughter, son-in-law and grandsons (instead of blogging) I didn't read on RK about the information in time.  I was erroneously told to contact my Obama Hq.  I wrote this AM.  When I didn't hear from them I went down there (in person).  They had no tickets.  And then was told Boucher's office might have some.  Turns out it was already too late to get to Abingdon.

I am now officially politically depressed.  And I guess I will never get to hear our candidate.  Pretty discouraging.

Kathy, let me see what I can do. (Lowell - 9/8/2008 7:57:38 AM)
No guarantees, but I'll try to get you a press pass through my contacts in the Obama campaign...
