Spotted this in the Arlington Sun Gazette:
GOP TO HOST SUMMER PICNIC: The Arlington County Republican Committee will hold its inaugural GOP Summer Picnic on Saturday, Sept. 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Potomac Overlook Regional Park.
Featured guests include 8th District U.S. House of Representatives nominee Mark Ellmore and two of the candidates for Attorney General in 2009: state Sen. Ken Cuccinelli, R-Fairfax, and former School Board member Dave Foster.
Then a friend pointed this out:
Hitting up the Arlington GOP site for further details on the picnic seems to reveal someone has a fascination with death. The website features links to remembrances for 9/11, the VA tech tragedy, and Ronald Reagan, a cartoon announcing the death of single-family Arlington neighborhoods with the passage of the Accessory Dwelling Unit proposal, and short bios of recently deceased ACRC supporters.
Nothing wrong with honoring those who have passed on, but such a gloomy homepage probably won't do much to attract the energy the Arlington GOP will need to make a dent at the polls in November.
Sounds like a fun bunch to hang out with, huh?
