NOW: Obama 45%-McCain 39% (+6)
7/08: Obama 45%-McCain 39% (+6)
6/08: Obama 48%-McCain 42% (+6)
Change between June and now=ZERO. Take that, corporate media and your silly storyline!
Even better, check out this enthusiasm gap (% of registered voters who are enthusiastic about their candidate):
Obama 43%-McCain 14% (+29)
That's a huge enthusiasm gap, which should result in a lot more Obama supporters turning out on Election Day. Also working to Obama's advantage, 17% of McCain "supporters" actually say they're "dissatisfied" with their candidate, compared to just 6% of Obama supporters. Ouch.
Another interesting finding from the poll that is ominous for John McCain:
Working class whites (white voters with incomes less than $50K and without a college degree) are now backing Obama - a reversal from last month. George W. Bush won this group in both 2004 and 2000.
In addition to winning among "hard working white people," Obama also "leads McCain among Democrats, liberals, African Americans, voters under age 45 and women."
Finally, it truly is "the economy stupid" in this election, with 36% ranking that the #1 issue (followed by 17% who say the Iraq war), and 83% who believe "the condition of the economy is at least somewhat bad."
P.S. By the way, for those who might believe the CBS News poll is an aberration, Time Magazine is out with a new poll that shows Obama up 5 points, while AP-Ipsos has Obama up 6 points. Also, check out the latest electoral vote analysis by Chris Bowers, which has it at Obama 264-McCain 172-Tossup 102. There's lots of work still to do, but things are looking good for Obama right now - no matter what the corporate media tells you!
Time poll: Obama 46%, McCain 41%
Gap: 5%
Headline: Trouble Signs in Obama's Lead
--
I guess that 1% is pretty important. Hell: it's the difference between a campaign that's "holding off" its opponent, and a campaign that's showing "trouble signs."
HEY BARACK...BUSH = McCain = BUSH!!!!
Either the conservative media is biased for McCain, or they are trying to hype up a race to keep people watching the news.
