There is an excellent editorial in the Virginian-Pilot that highlights the real problem with immigration debate/issue.

The business community has skillfully diverted the attention away from themselves and how they are the real reason why immigrants are coming into this country illegally.  Someone (an individual or business) offered them a better life and more money than what they are currently able to make in their own country, if they would come and work for less than what the going rate is for a legal citizen to do the same work in this country.  I think this qualifies as a good example of exploitation.

Just to be clear, while I am disgusted by the actions of some very obvious unethical businesses and corportations, by and large the business community does a good job of working within the legal extent of the laws of this country.  This is an example of a very large, very powerful corporation, that is being held accountable for their business decissions.

It doesn't say much for us (as a society) when it only takes a little poke from bigoted speech to tap into our fears and biases to avoid the real issues of immigration and divert attention from the true law breakers.  When others don't look like you, talk like you, act like you, it is much easier to justify marginalizing behaviors.
