Paris Hilton: McCain "From the Olden Days"

OK, so her energy "hybrid" wouldn't work because drilling isn't a "bridge" (it takes at least a decade to produce much oil after a new area is opened). But she trashes McCain so I'll overlook it.

I guess she has a sense of humor, so I'll give her that. (Barbara - 8/5/2008 10:51:48 PM)
Plus it's pretty funny.

I did like Jay Leno's joke last night when he mentioned her mother being upset about the ad, and said "of all the videos Paris has been in, this is the one that upsets her"?

This one was good. Let's see what Britney comes up with. (FMArouet21 - 8/5/2008 11:50:40 PM)

Britney actually has a little talent. Maybe she will sing and dance some circles around the "wrinkly old white-haired guy" in a video to be posted soon.

LIked the Obama camp response to the Paris Hilton ad:  "Whatever."

I wonder if... (elevandoski - 8/6/2008 12:23:00 AM)
T. Boone Pickens put her up to this.

Funniest Part- McCain Campaign Responds! (Tyler Durden - 8/6/2008 12:31:55 AM)

McCain Camp statement on Paris Spoof

For urgent!

It sounds like Paris Hilton supports John McCains all of the above approach to Americas energy crisis - including both alternatives and drilling. In reality, Paris Hilton may have a more substantive energy policy than Barack Obama. ---Tucker Bounds, spokesman

McCain campaign trying to have it both ways here?

harrumph, harrumph (spotter - 8/6/2008 6:47:53 AM)
chhhcggghhh.  Sorry, just clearing the phlegm from my throat.  First rule: when somebody's making fun of you, don't respond.  It just makes it worse.  Second rule: never, ever name your child "Tucker."

For urgent?  What's that about?

No idea (Tyler Durden - 8/7/2008 4:30:39 PM)
The Fox News 'Urgent Queue' is actually fairly interesting- it includes their internal rumblings such as "For urgent"

Says a lot about the personality of Fox News, most of which we already knew but its still interesting / funny

"In reality . . ." (JPTERP - 8/6/2008 12:06:40 PM)
the McCain spokesman realized that it's probably better to compliment max donor kids, than to drag them into a political debate in an unflattering way.

That's the biggest irony here: Spears is a big-time Republican; Hilton's parents are huge GOP contributors.  Yet they both get dumped on in an ad.  Sounds like a pretty accurate description for Bush Republicanism: Vote for us and we'll sh-t on you!

At the risk of being labelled a flip-flopper, I'm changing my opinion on Paris. (Silence Dogood - 8/6/2008 12:31:34 PM)
The bridge comment aside, that was way more articulate and reasonable in a centrist sort of way than I would have ever expected from her.  Not a rocket scientist, but I don't think I can think of her as a total airhead anymore.

Plus you know she's not just acting because if you've ever been forced to see any of the movies she "acted" in, hooo boy....
