McCain Gets Testy with Veteran over Webb's GI Bill

McSame apparently supports and respects our veterans in the abstract, but not in reality (or in person). He also fails to answer the question: Senator, why on earth did you oppose Jim Webb's GI Bill?!?

The most interesting part of this clip is the dispute over whether veteran's groups give McCain a 100% rating as he claims.

McCain has a history of saying things that are plainly contradicted by the record, like when he told Tim Russert he never said he didn't know jack about economics, and this is no exception.

Their conclusion?

While McCain may enjoy broad support among many veterans of both parties, we have to give him an 'F' for truth-telling.

2006  Senator McCain supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 20 percent in 2006.

2006  In 2006 Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America gave Senator McCain a grade of D.

2006  Senator McCain sponsored or co-sponsored 18 percent of the legislation favored by the The Retired Enlisted Association in 2006.

2005  Senator McCain supported the interests of the Disabled American Veterans 25 percent in 2005.

The guy is having problems controlling himself and it is only July.  He might be his own worst enemy, but the media still has a soft spot for him.
