Walter Tejada: In Arlington, We See Diversity as a Good Thing

Just a quick note from the Arlington County Democratic Committee meeting last night.  In County Board Chairman Walter Tejada's remarks, he noted that in Arlington -- unlike one jurisdiction not too far to the west of Arlington (hint: initials, "PW") -- we see diversity in our schools (and in general) as a strength and an opportunity, not as a problem or a weakness. What a concept, huh? :)

Thank you, Mr. Tejada for your service.

No Question about it. Walter is right. Our new neighbors just moved to Arlington from CA. They picked Arlington so their kids could enroll in Spanish immersion programs at school and find diversity in classmates and friends. They have raved about the wide range of cultures and the openness they have found in all aspects of life in Arlington. And they have yet to meet Walter, Andres, Emma, Sally, Jay and others in the forefront of leading Arlington to new chapters in diversity. They will see more of this tomorrow at Barcroft's 4th of July Parade.

Walter Tejada pulling a stunt that boils down to rolling out the red carpet for illegal immigrants in Arlington. The County Board has already established that it is a sanctuary county for illegal immigration. About 700 times. Since they insist on being counter productive on this issue, they need to just move on.
Also Love the Barcroft 4th of July parade. Can't believe it's our 20th year having it! Should be a good one.
