We are excited to announce that Blue America is endorsing VA-05 candidate Tom Perriello. Come on by FireDogLake on Saturday from 2-4 p.m. ET for a live blog with Tom. He'll be taking your questions about his race against Virgil Goode, his policy positions, and his vision for conviction politics in this historic election year.

Here's a preview of Tom introducing himself to Blue America:

Show that VA pride and come out to support your home-state candidate!

Thanks,
Jessica

Creigh Deeds had an event for Tom (teacherken - 6/27/2008 5:42:37 PM)
after the JJ dinner, back at the hotel.  I have gotten to know Tom since, having attended several DC fundraisers, including one this past week at Rep. Rosa DeLauro's house, which had as an honorary co-host Sen. Russ Feingold.  My wife and I also had brunch with Tom when we were in C'Ville a few weeks back.

Not onloy is Jessica registered here and at Daily Kos, hder assistant is also registered over there.  We hope go have Tom liveblog here and we have talked about him live-blogging at Daily Kos as well.

Tom's race is one of my real priorities this cycle, and I will be leaning on friends who are already in Congress to help him.  hose who have any knowledge of Virgil Goode are immediately responsive.

Peace.

Great news! (Populista - 6/27/2008 6:19:21 PM)
I will be sure to make it.

Glad to see Tom is getting national attention.

Excellent! (faithfull - 6/27/2008 8:56:11 PM)
Tom Periello should be the model candidate for Democratic candidates across the country, and its great to see him get some love from the netroots. His creative, people-powered campaign is going to beat that turncoat Virgil Goode in November.

Check him out tomorrow!

peace,

Great job by Tom (Lowell - 6/29/2008 3:05:18 PM)
Check out the live blog and see for yourself. Here's a sample:

First of all our district is a classic independent district. It voted for Govs. Kaine and Warner, both great Democrats. In the primary Barack Obama got more votes than McCain and Huckabee combined. We're confident, like the DCCC, that this district is up for grabs.

I find the people here are more interested in result than partisanship. There is a deep frustration over how little Rep. Goode has done to bring back economic prosperity and good jobs to working families. We've lost tens of thousands of jobs in our district under Goode's watch and he's voted against SCHIP, against minimum wage, and against negotiating cheaper drug prices. These aren't liberal issues they are issues that deeply affect our issues. People are also just fed up with the culture of corruption. That's why we've outraised and outorganized him.
