Mark Warner's campaign just sent a link to me (and probably a bunch of other Virginia bloggers) highlighting this site:
While I don't agree with every position held by Warner as highlighted here (e.g., no offshore drilling exploration in my home state please!), Gilmore is wrong on every issue and on Warner's positions and on basic facts. So, these fact checkers over at Warner's campaign are going be very busy this year.

Gilmore has his usual tactics in play (KathyinBlacksburg - 6/27/2008 9:22:51 AM)
He's got his stir-up-the-public push poll already activated. I got such a call ("Are you upset about gas prices," or something like that) at dinner time (6 PM) the other day and hung up. Then I wished I listened to the whole thing, just to report his latest nonsense.
PS Pols and phone-bankers on both sides of the aisle should think about the following: Political calls during the dinner hour turn everyone off. Though political calls are not bound by the same rules that commercial calls are, political calls should not occur before 9 AM, between 5 and 7 PM, or after 9 PM. You undo your effort by calling during people's private down-times.
PS: Gilmore has bad data (KathyinBlacksburg - 6/27/2008 9:29:47 AM)
Otherwise, he wouldn't waste a call on me! The only time I voted for a Republican since arriving in Virginia (27 years ago) was a single crossover for the Republican primary of 1988 (voted Dole instead of HW Bush). Oh, yes, and I voted for John Warner, WHEN he was unopposed (what was I thinking? Even though he was unopposed when I voted for him, I now regret that vote for a pretend "moderate").
Anyway, if Gilmore's data is so bad he's got me on his list, he is really in trouble! :-) But we all knew that. Gilmore's got nothing. And it is a wonder of modern hubris that he dares to show his face to voters in Virginia, much less run again.
Lots of Work To Be Done Here (HisRoc - 6/27/2008 5:33:23 PM)
Fact-checking Gimmick Gilmore is like pissing on a forest fire.
