"I find [bloggers] to be a very thoughtful and fair group. They are good about getting information out," said Mame Reilly, an Alexandria resident who is a Democratic Super Delegate and Gov. Mark Warner's former political director.[...]
"Every smart campaign has vehicle for reaching voters over the internet," said Reilly, who helped launch Mark Warner's defunct presidential bid. Reilly is also the former head of the women's caucus for the Democratic National Committee.
Exactly right, it's hard to even imagine a campaign today that does NOT employ a netroots coordinator and maybe a blogger or two (or three or four). Despite this, there are still people out there who don't understand this. But Mame Reiley obviously does, which on second thought is not surprising coming from one of the most respected people in politics today.
Combining her deep belief in the importance of grassroots volunteerism with her undertanding of the importance of today's bloggers' impact on elections might qualifiy her to be the "Cover Girl" for Lowell's "Netroots Rising". We need more leaders like Mame in the DPVA and the DNC.
If you think I'm a fan of both Mame and Lowell, well I am.

He went on to point out that young people get their information about the world in a radically different fashion than fogies and that it's critical to communicate with your people as many ways as possible. That's why he had bloggers, did a Second Generation (avatar) press conference, etc.
Warner gets it. Who was behind Warner back then? Someone named Mame Reiley (who hails from the People's Republic of Mt. Vernon where all good Democrats come from I might add).....
And don 't view bloggers as the scum of the earth (okay, now I am possibly pushing the envelope, but I will be nice and not name names).
I know, it was tongue-in-cheek, but I just wanted to say that I know LOTS of good Democrats from all over the place (and I know you do too...).
Just sayin'.... ;-)
