An article in today's Wall Street Journal presents itself as an objective look at efforts to reduce the environmental impact of the Democratic National Convention. But even with their presidential nominee trying to be green, you can't ask the right-wing media to take environmental concerns seriously:

Watching the greening frenzy from afar, Fred L. Smith Jr., president of the libertarian Washington think tank Competitive Enterprise Institute, suggested the Democrats could really shrink their footprint by staging a virtual-reality convention: "Just have everyone stay at home with their laptops, sitting in their pajamas, interacting through their avatars."

Rupert Murdoch owns the WSJ now (Teddy - 6/25/2008 6:12:31 PM)
as you will re-call. While WSJ's editorial page always had a kind of twisted radical right flavor (in contrast to its rather even-handed and often objective straight news articles/reports), this smirking and smarmy "article" on the Democratic green convention is probably just a mild foretaste of what we have to look forward to now Rupert is in charge. Anyone who imagines Obama has an easy, fore-ordained march to the White House has no concept of the heavy artillery barrages that are coming... talk about Shock and Awe!
