This just in from the blog of Waldo Jaquith!

Announcement!
We Are Pleased to Announce
The Union of Del. David Barr Albo
and
Majority Leader Morgan Griffith
In A Holy Rural-Conservative Alliance

Del. Dave Albo has made his marriage to the rural conservative leadership official!  He's gone into business with Majority Leader Morgan Griffith of Salem, VA and they have decided to merge their law practices!

Given that Delegate Griffith is the #2 leader in the House Caucus, this will surely make it easier for Del. Dave Albo to buck the conservative rural leadership when looking out for the interests of his suburban moderate district - right?!?

We here at Albo Must Go remember how much Delegate Griffith looks out for Northern Virginia.  On March 5, 2007, The Washington Post's Marc Fisher pointed out that at a meeting in Danville in 2007,  Delegate Griffith was asked what the rationale was for the 2007 regional transportation plans.  Here's what Marc Fisher said:

But there's another thing going on in this whole political battle, and it's being revealed right now as legislators head home and try to sell this package to their constituents. Let's visit Martinsville, Va., way down in the south-central part of the state, near North Carolina. There, Delegate Morgan Griffith let down his hair while talking to the local chamber of commerce: The Republican legislator told the local crowd that the whole purpose of this transportation package is to make sure that rural roads get built and rural interests are protected before those urban folks up in northern Virginia take over the legislature and the state, which is a demographic inevitability.   Marc Fisher, The Real Aim of Virginia's Transpo Deal, Raw Fisher (Mar. 5, 2007).

Delegate Albo - we're glad to see that you choose your partners well.  We're so excited.
