Wow what a crazy day at the State Democratic Convention! I met so many wonderful people!Saw so many wonderful speeches by our many Congressional candidates, other party leaders and our three Super Stars Gov. Kaine, Senator Webb, and former Gov. Warner soon to be Senator Warner!! The whoe process was a bit chaotic and we voted on the at large delegates last which had the most names and the hardest to count. We had to leave at 6 to get back and pick up our kids so we still do not know the results! If anyone knows who was elected can you please post it!

Obama rumored results (JohnB - 6/15/2008 12:25:21 PM)
I had hoped to see detailed results by now on the official DPVA website. Nothing
So rumor has it I that the results on the Obama side, after hours of manipulation, the Kaine slate will be put forward. Too bad because it disenfranchised many of the volunteers that insider politics kept off the "slate".
I was also told the Obama caucus chair was the DPVA Chair and someone who had been the Edwards Chair in Virginia. This was provided as a reason for some people not being recognized because he has not been active in the Obama campaign.
There were 152 candidates for at-large Obama delegate (Randy Klear - 6/15/2008 5:04:50 PM)
by my count, and each ballot that didn't have a slate vote had up to 12 votes to be counted, plus another 2 for the subset who also filed to be alternates. There were also (I'm guessing here) about 700-800 ballots cast, with about 1/4 voting for the slate. From what I understand, it took the tellers until about 8:30 to wade through the paper.
Looks like time for outside review of the ballots (JohnB - 6/15/2008 8:48:01 PM)
The entire slate should have needed 50% to win. The individuals on the slate should not get slate votes split up and given to them individually.
rumor has it ...... (Rebelma - 6/15/2008 8:40:16 PM)
The slate prevailed.... this is what i posted to where i was told that information-
thank you for the information- although i am not happy to hear the obama slate won- all of them were originally on both the PLEO and at large ballot- they split off which made sure that the 3 woman left on the PLEO would go- and 4 of the 5 men left would- the rest formed the Obama Slate when they are really Party leaders when there were many many grass roots workers who are the back bone of getting any candidate elected on the ballots- we were shut out at the congressional conventions by decptive behavior and now at the State by the formation of this slate that should have stayed under the party leaders catagory- i am sure just because it appeared they were indorsed by the Obama campaign- I would much rather see woman like Jhana go! It should be a fair mix of the grassroots workers who give their hearts and souls as well as the party leaders- i think we need to take a serious look at how we treat the people in our own party- I really feel sick now!!
Volunteers were cut off on the Congressional level (JohnB - 6/15/2008 8:52:51 PM)
Democrats need to demand a full and open accounting. I'm sorry you feel sick, our party should never be anything but fair, open and above board.
