A very, very classy move by Mike Turner!
Congratulations to Judy Feder
Dear Friends,
I offer my sincere and heartfelt congratulations to Judy Feder and her great team for a principled and hard-fought primary campaign!
Judy is off to a fantastic start in her bid to unseat Frank Wolf. I enthusiastically endorse her as the Democratic nominee of the 10th Congressional District and I look forward to supporting Judy in any way I can. This is an historic Democratic election year but there is still plenty of hard work required by all of us to win in November!
It's now time for all Democrats to roll up our sleeves and get to work on behalf of the Obama-Warner-Feder ticket.
Best of luck with your campaign Judy!
With warmest regards,
Mike Turner
Also, please see Judy Feder's message to Mike Turner here. Now, let's all focus on beating Frank Wolf this November! Thanks.

Hey, I was wondering (Silence Dogood - 6/12/2008 2:37:44 PM)
In the newfound spirit of Democratic unity and burying the hatchet, will y'all be putting the Governor's name back on the banner?
No. (Lowell - 6/12/2008 2:40:34 PM)
But thanks for asking. The plan for this blog in 2005 was always to shift from naming it after an individual to a more generic one. In addition, this is a progressive blog, and Tim Kaine has not generally governed the state in a progressive manner (estate taxes, environment, several other key areas).
Rebranding (Ron1 - 6/12/2008 3:09:02 PM)
I was wondering about this even before the actions of Kaine over the last few months. The thing is, y'all have built almost assuredly the most successful state-level community blog in the nation, so how do you rebrand and refocus while maintaining the association with the quality work performed heretofore?
Are you anticipating a 're-launch' or contest for a new name?
FWIW, I whole-heartedly agree with your analysis. The movement needs to be bigger than any one person or governor, so I will be very interested to see what you guys decide to do going forward.
Thanks. (Lowell - 6/12/2008 3:11:35 PM)
That's the only holdup, how to make the change without losing our "brand." It's a challenge.
A note on Mike Turner (Lowell - 6/12/2008 3:15:03 PM)
He's a strong progressive, so he's easy to "unify" with. For instance, here's Mike Turner on energy/environment:
The Federal government should establish a national goal to have every U.S. urban area carbon neutral within 20 years.
and
Move all mass transit systems to "green" energy sources.
and
We must completely redefine how we think about transportation. Every transportation decision we make from this point forward must either reduce the time American's spend in their cars or significantly improve the energy self-sufficiency of those cars.
Great stuff!
More Party Unity (MikeTurnerforCongress - 6/14/2008 12:07:55 PM)
Lowell, thank you for your very kind words and for stressing the party unity theme. I look forward to supporting Judy in this year's general election against Frank Wolf. I also look forward to working more closely with the RK community and the broader netroots in the coming years. -- Mike
