Sources tell Time that disgraced ex-Rep. Duke Cunningham (R-CA) "wore a wire to help investigators gather evidence against others just before copping his own plea.""The identity of those with whom the San Diego congressman met while wearing the wire remains unclear, and is the source of furious -- and nervous -- speculation by congressional Republicans."
Remember, Cunningham was brought down due to bribes from a now-defunct defense contracting company named MZM and its founder Mitch Wade. Accordingly, Virgil Goode is now under a cloud of impropriety because of his significant money ties to MZM and Wade.
Pure speculation: Should Virgil be one these "nervous" congressional Republicans? For his sake, I hope he didn't have any frank and unguarded discussions with the Duke recently.
