-- First up, saw Chap Petersen at his booth (looked like he was rooming with Steve Shannon there). I was wearing my "Chap" shirt from last year, and he got a kick out of that. We had a brief conversation, and he told me he's enjoying being a State Senator in the majority.
-- I popped by the Fairfax Dems booth: a lot of action there. A large number of volunteers registering voters, taking down info, and handing out information, stickers, and yard signs for Mark Warner, Barack Obama, and other candidates. They were doing a heck of job, especially with roving volunteers handing out stickers: there were many people with Obama and Warner stickers all around.
-- Speaking of the future Senator, I ran into Mark Warner next, who was making the rounds in the little town fair. He's one of my political heroes, so it was an honor to shake his hand. I told him that I was looking forward to voting for him in the fall.
-- No Fairfax GOP booth? Maybe I just missed it.
-- Brief walk by reports on the 11 District candidates: A lot of action at Gerry Connolly's booth with a number of volunteers handing out balloons and other paraphernalia. Leslie Byrne's booth wasn't nearly as active (perhaps it was just the moment I walked by). Also some decent activity at GOP candidate Keith Fimian's booth.
Sorry, no pictures. It's hard to manage a camera in one hand and a corndog in the other.
