Tom Osborne, treasurer for the Virginia Partisans, a gay Democratic group, called Cuccinelli a "shrill enemy of LGBT rights" and said the senator would be "a horrendous attorney general." Osborne said Cuccinelli has opposed the gay community at every turn and criticized the senator for having a "100 percent anti-gay voting record."
I mean, it's one thing to support "traditional marriage" and to be a "traditional family guy" -- as Cooch proudly calls himself. But it's another thing entirely to be a bigot and hate monger towards an entire group of people -- in this case, homosexuals. Sadly, that's exactly what Ken Cuccinelli is when he says ignorant stuff like, "I don't believe homosexuality is something that's right at a fundamental level" (hey Cooch, check this out) and that "homosexuality is self-destructive" (hey Cooch, did you miss this 35 years ago or what?!?).
No, Cooch, the only thing that's "destructive" is when people like you spew your ignorance and hatred towards this group of people, even passing laws restricting their EQUAL RIGHTS -- note, not "special rights" -- to all other Americans. Even sadder, Cooch brags about how Bob McDonnell and he are completely in sync, saying he "could not think of a time [when] he was out of line" from McDonnell. That's pathetic, and combined with his ignorance and bigotry, should automatically disqualify Cooch from holding any office in Virginia, let alone Attorney General.
P.S. This is exactly why we needed to defeat Cuccinelli in 2007, and in general why local elections are so important.
We need to call it out every day.
Racism, Homophobic behviour, will not be tolerated in public officials.
You wanna be racist, sit at home in your underwear
and pick your nose.
