Glenn Nye Raises Over $250,000 in First Three Months, Files Signatures Needed For Congressional Ballot"People are joining with this campaign because they are excited by my message of independent leadership and my commitment to seeking bipartisan solutions to change Washington and make our future more secure," Nye says.
Virginia Beach, VA-Building on his campaign's growing momentum, Glenn Nye today filed the required signatures to place his name on the ballot for Virginia's 2nd Congressional District race. Nye also announced that he raised more than $250,000 in the first three months of his campaign, showing strong, early support for Nye's unique qualifications and message of change.
"I am pleased to officially place my name on the ballot for Congress in Virginia's Second District. As a fifth-generation resident of this district, I have volunteered to serve my country in conflict zones across the world, most recently in Iraq, and now am asking for the opportunity to serve here at home," Nye said. "In Congress, I will seek to bring about a change in Washington's priorities and bring my independent leadership, experience and good judgment to work for the people of Virginia's Second District."Nye also announced today that he has raised $252,124 from beginning his campaign in January to March 31, and has more than $222,000 in the bank. Nye raised 99% of his contributions from individuals, and his total surpasses the amount raised by Phil Kellam in the first quarter of 2006.
"I am humbled by the strong, early support my campaign has received," Nye continued. "People are joining with this campaign because they are excited by my message of independent leadership and my commitment to seeking bipartisan solutions to change Washington and make our future more secure."
But here's a snapshot picture of her voting record. As you can see -her 2007 ratings are abysmal across the board:
14% Humane Society of the United States
0% ACLU
0% Human Rights Campaign
0% Virginia Eduation Association
16.6% Virginia Sierra Club
20% Children's Defense Fund
8% AFL-CIO
0% Disabled American Veterans
Aren't these enough reasons to fire Thelma Drake?
As you can see, who DOES she represent?? Not the 2nd CD, obviously!
Head on over to Nye's Website and send Glenn a few dollars to keep up the momentum.
Do you live in Hampton Roads?
His staff is working 24/7 and would love your help. I plan on volunteering as much as possible through November. Yes, the second is a tough district but it is targeted by the DCCC.

Send Glenn Nye to DC!
