There's a very nice story in today's Washington Post on Philip L. Thurman, a man convicted of a rape he did not commit based on DNA testing. Yesterday, Mark Warner granted him a "full and unconditional pardon," after he had served 20 years in prison for the crime. Warner's move came just a week after two other men were exonerated thanks to " modern-day testing Warner ordered more than a year ago."
Great news for Philip L. Thurman, and great news for all of us who care about justice. Thank you, Governor Warner! As Philip L. Thurman says, "God is real good. I'm just so grateful now."
