Which General Assembly Member Lives Within 1 Miles of this Sign?

The photo was sent to me by a Virginia legislator as a fun contest for RK. The person who sent it to me suggested the following language for the contest::
Some in the blogosphere and Virginia politics believe all Virginia Democrats should think and vote and act exactly like they do because, basically, all of Virginia is the same. To demonstrate every place is a little different, this photo was sent to us by a Democratic member of the GA. Be the first person to guess which Democratic member of the General Assembly lives within one mile of this sign, and you will have blogosphere bragging rights forever. Hint, it is not a member of the Arlington delegation.
P.S. You can click on the photo to "embiggen," as Waldo likes to say.
UPDATE: ChipperJ is the winner, coming up with the correct answer -- Albert Pollard. Congratulations!

And the winner gets... (Albert Pollard - 4/7/2008 11:49:02 AM)
A pigs feet dinner, purchased by me. Said dinner can be picked up in Mollusk (22517), which is actually the small town where the photo was taken.
A tour of other Mollusk highlights will include, the Post Office and the two general stores (including the one in the photo), and, uh, did I mention we had a post office?
A great place to live, but it is not for the culinary faint-of-heart.
Albert Pollard
Thanks Albert! (Lowell - 4/7/2008 11:49:59 AM)
Is the pigs feet dinner going to be live blogged? :)
The Lively Oaks (ChipperJ - 4/7/2008 12:32:39 PM)

Bonus Points Where in VA-01 was this taken (Shawn - 4/7/2008 12:07:14 PM)
I'm guessing....... (ChipperJ - 4/7/2008 12:30:32 PM)
Beach at George Washingtons National Birthplace
No ... but that's another great place to visit in VA-01 (Shawn - 4/7/2008 12:53:54 PM)
Upon further examination (ChipperJ - 4/7/2008 1:43:52 PM)
....it looks like this picture was taken on the Rappahannock River. Somewhere between the Tappahannock Bridge and Leedstown!!
Menchville area marina?? (lgb30856 - 4/7/2008 12:34:02 PM)
No ... no marina associated with it (Shawn - 4/7/2008 12:54:39 PM)
Don't know if it's right... (Isaac Sarver - 4/7/2008 1:17:37 PM)
but I feel like giving props to two members of Virginia's award-winning state park system. My guess is:
Westmoreland State Park
It's ever so slightly further down the road from George Washington's Birthplace. Another great portion of the system, under the Department of Conservation and Recreation, is the Caledon Natural Area. It does have some shoreline which would fit with the photo. ;-) That'd be extremely close to the VA-01 border however... which is why my guess is Westmoreland.
No ... but those are 2 more great places to visit in VA-01 (Shawn - 4/7/2008 1:19:50 PM)
It is at Belle Isle State Park, . (Albert Pollard - 4/7/2008 1:20:19 PM)
On the North side of the Rappahannock looking across the River to Middlesex County... But that really isn't fair for me to guess, my Dad grew up on that farm.

Nicely done... (Isaac Sarver - 4/7/2008 1:21:41 PM)
I haven't been to Belle Isle, but hear its absolutely beautiful.
Belle Isle it is... (Shawn - 4/7/2008 1:39:25 PM)
and the great news is that every year Democrats get together there for a huge picnic ... and everyone is welcome!
Thanks to Albert and all those who took part!
The tidal Potomac in Prince William County (floodguy - 4/7/2008 1:40:30 PM)
say around Leesyvlannia State Park? Believe it or not, parts of the river shoreline on the Va side this far upriver, is sandy just like this.
But because of the flatness, the tall pines and the tall grasses, it looks it could be from the many areas along the bay or one of the larger tidal rivers or estuaries around the western side of the Chesapeake in Va.
I love this game! (pvogel - 4/7/2008 2:12:58 PM)
Lets continue, with the clues posted for the clueless to guess!
Might be to easy for an urban district, but even here in the west end of alexandria you can get bucolic fotos without too many traces of humanity. ( Holmes run park, for instance)
The alexandria photo blog opened up my eyes to some of the beauty thats all around us.
If you insist... I've got one across the state. (Isaac Sarver - 4/7/2008 2:27:06 PM)
Since most of you folks aren't local to my area, I'll just ask this: What Democratic General Assembly member represents the area viewed in this picture.
Bonus points if you can name the body of water pictured, and I have a hint if you need it.
Terry Kilgore (planetjanet - 4/7/2008 6:34:15 PM)
This has got to be from Scott County, Virginia. There are lots of Kilgores in Fort Blackmore.
I'm too late (Virginia-Liberal - 4/8/2008 8:03:13 PM)
to win... but I drive by that sign at the Corottoman Plaza just about every day... (And my neighbor Al Pollard's driveway, too).
Hi Al!
